MULTIMEDIA Below are links to view a short video of
Brandon in his studio flame cutting a sculpture and a couple of object
movies of new work. Each will open in a new window.
Information on how these were made: The studio video was shot onto VHS-C analog tape in May 2000. It was digitized at 320 x 240 pixels with a Miromotion DC-20 PCI card in a 233mhz PowerMac G3. It was then edited with Adobe Premier to create a one and a half minute movie that was about 30 megabytes in size. MediaCleanerPro was used to compress it with the sorenson codec and to create the Realplayer version. Plan for future video: I'd like to shoot more scenes of Brandon in his studio flame cutting, welding, drawing and painting. A short video tour of his Studio/Home/Gallery may also be in the works. Ideally it'll be shot and edited in the DV format so that we get a bigger and better quality product. Look for more from the current batch to show up here soon. The QTVR examples are my first attempt at this process. The rig for this version was a home made steel armature with a low resolution (and small- 320 x 240) component video camera conection. The sphere consists of 60 images- 5 vertical rows 30 degrees apart and 12 horizontal columns. This is still too few images for smooth playback. I'll be perfecting the system in the near future with a new more precise camera rig and better imageing with a 640 x 480 firewire connection to the Apple QTVR Authoring Studio software. The new rig will be larger yet lighter weight. In addition I will utilize a blue screen process to key the object from it's backgound- I deleated the background manually for these which was very time consuming. Please feel free to send me comments
about this addition to Brandon's web site or any other site related topics. Return to Home Page |
